Keep your diary clear for what promises to be a fantastic first when triathlon comes to town in Birmingham. Finishing touches are currently being made to plans for the 2007 event.
The National Exhibition Centre (www.necgroup.co.uk) is the venue for the inaugural Birmingham Triathlon which will take place during the August Bank Holiday weekend. The Midland’s premier event and exhibition venue is ideally positioned to welcome athletes from all over the country.
Selected by British Triathlon as a 2008 World Sprint Triathlon Championship Qualifier the event will appeal to experienced triathletes as well as being an ideal event for those new to open water swimming and triathlon.
Features include:
750m swim in the calm, sheltered waters of Pendigo Lake.
Fast 20km bike ride on quiet, wide roads
5km run around the NEC
Trade Fair
This event promises to grow and grow – make sure you can say that you were there for the very first one.
